Chapter Philanthropy

The women of the Beta Omega Chapter of Sigma Kappa participate in many activities related to our philanthropies. To raise money for our national philanthropies, we host a large event in the spring and fall semesters every year. We have held carnivals, barbeques, kickball tournaments and more! A new event that we added is Sigma Kappa's SigKap & Cheese! In past semesters, we have also sold Sigma Kapples, which are caramel apples, on campus to raise money for Alzheimer's research! Our five philanthropies are the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inherit the Earth, Gerontology, the Maine Seacoast Mission, and the National Alzheimer's Association and Research. Sigma Kappa strongly believes that one day we will find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

Our Sigma Kappa women donate their time along with raising money for our philanthropies. Throughout the year, members attend bingo nights at a local retirement home to interact and have fun with the residents. Many members also help clean up local parks to support Inherit the Earth. We also participate in the annual "Walk to End Alzheimer's" every fall to support our community and our sisters affected by Alzheimer's Disease. The women of Beta Omega volunteer for other causes and organizations as well.
